Description: An extensive view of the Bay of Islands, (forming the right-hand part of a panorama with E-137-q-012/013) looking from Paihia towards Kororareka (Russell) and showing several ships in the harbour, probably associated with the sacking of Kororareka. The name Otuihu is no longer extant - it appears here to refer to Pomare Bay Inscriptions: Recto - beneath image - Title in ink in the artist's hand. Also across the top, in another hand, in pencil 'Looking from Paihia south up the Kororareka to the site of Pomare's Pah, where the ships are going' Quantity: 1 drawing(s). Description: A Maori boy, dressed in European clothes, seated on a bed covered with a fringed flax cloak, with pictures pinned to the raupo-covered walls behind him and a jacket hanging from it. Either painted at St John's College, Purewa (Meadowbank, Auckland) during 'Himiona Tu's' time there as a student, or inside the boy's home. Himiona is a transliteration of the European name Simon and suggests the boy has been baptised. Inscriptions: Recto - bottom left - 14. Ko Himiona Tu [in brownink] Quantity: 1 watercolour(s).
