This series mainly consists of printed matter including newspaper clippings and scrapbooks of clippings. These include articles written by Cowan, and articles which he kept as part of his research for his writing. Some of the folders also include correspondence, maps, drafts and other papers. This series consists of 60 folders and 2 volumes, which is a scrapbook of clippings and an annotated copy of Travel in New Zealand. The dates range from 1846-1940.
