Description: Photographs of rehearsals and performance of Shakepeare's play `Henry V' produced by Dame Ngaio Marsh for the opening celebrations of the new Christchurch Town Hall in October 1972. Photographs probably taken by Chris Mangin who was involved in the production. There are no captions in the album, but cast and crew members were identified from a programme of the production. Images include Dame Ngaio Marsh, the composer and conductor Simon Tipping, and assistant producer helen Holmes. Actors include Jonathan Elsom, Mildred Woods, Gerald Lascelles, William Hayward, Endel Lust, Gerald Orchard, Nicholas Blake, David Hindin, Desmond Woods, Michael Hamblett, Robert bell, Vincent Orange, Janet Lock, and Olivia Spencer-Bower. Description: Photographs of a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, produced by Ngaio Marsh, performed by Canterbury University students in 1945. None of the performers are identified; but the last photograph in the album shows Ngaio Marsh with five children from the production wearing their costumes. Accompanying information - on 5 May 2015, Simone Kennedy and her mother Colleen Kennedy went through this album for Ngaio Marsh's production of 'Midsummer Nights Dream'. Colleen, as Colleen McAleer, was involved in the production so has left some slips, and an extra sheet of notes, in the album identifying, and providing some information about, some people.
