The collection comprises papers relating to Campbell's personal life and life and work as a writer, including diaries, correspondence, drafts and final versions of poems; recordings of musical works set to his poems; drafts of radio and television plays and scripts; stories and autobiographical material; correspondence and diaries relating to his work with the New Zealand Council for Educational Research work; financial papers; photographs; audio recordings of radio interviews with Alistair and Meg Campbell; poetry readings with Alistair Campbell and various others; and a video recording from Alistair's 70th birthday celebration.
