Art student at Wellington Technical College under James McLaughlan Nairn ca 1890, then taught art at the college himself. Left for Australia at an unknown date aboard the Monowai. Exhibited at the Wellington Art Club in the early 1890s. He was began teaching at the College in 1894 and was still on the staff in 1897.

Exhibited by the artist at the Wellington Art Club under the title Customhouse Quay in 1894.
