Description: Comprises photographic prints, negatives, and transparencies taken by Cyril Beavis and unidentified photographers (in the instance of occasional portraits of Beavis), circa late 1950s to 1970s. Photographs mostly taken by Cyril (Bill) Beavis while working as a photographer at the Listener from the 1960s to 1970s. Some photographs date from the late 1950s; some date into the 1980s. The collection is very diverse and topics covered include: New Zealand radio and television; radio and television personalities; other notable people from New Zealand and internationally; Wellington City and region; New Zealand artists; construction projects in Wellington City; and events, such as rugby games and car racing. Also includes a large number of transparencies relating to the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, including staff portraits and staff at work, buildings, television sets, and more. Transparency pockets include notes written in two different hands that relate to the collection's original housing and annotations. Some of these are original annotations added by the photographer; others have been transcribed from original housing or added by the archivist. Title supplied by Library.
