Earle, Charles Westwood, 1871-1950

First editor and managing director of Dominion newspaper. Chairman of New Zealand Proprietors' Association, 1939-1944. Born in Wellington, son of Joseph and Rosa Earle. Buried with his wife Katherine in Bolton Street Cemetery, Wellington. Survived by his son D W Earle of Wanganui and daughter, Mrs Beryl Finlay-Smith of Lower Hutt (see MS-Papers-2260-024 for fuller details).
