Yonge, Maurice (Sir), 1899-1986

Zoologist. He worked for the Marine Biological Association, Plymouth. Appointed leader of the expedition to the Great Barrier Reef in 1927. He had a successful academic career and continued to pursue his interest and research on corals and molluscs. He published `A Year on the Great Barrier Reef' (1930), and `Oyster' (1960).
