Description: Hydro electric power and irrigation dams, in particular the construction of the Pool Burn Reservoir dam. Some dam sites before construction, specifically a site on the Manuherikia River for the "Manuherikia Falls Dam". There are photographs of "White Creek Fault" and the effects of the Murchison earthquake on roads, bridges and the countryside. Especially covered is the lake formed by an earth slide across the Matakitaki River Likely to be a very interesting collection. Furkert was a leading public servant through the 1920s and 1930s.
