Description: A frontal view of a Kanak woman, wearing a necklace made of the fur of the flying fox, a bone bracelet, and an ear adornment on her left side Inscriptions: Recto - above image - Native of New Caledonia from a photograph lent me by Mr Holworthy - Parramatta, April 87. The twisted necklace is made of the fur of the flying fox. The lobe of the right ear is perforated and used for carrying small articles - such as cigarettes.
