Whitehead, Henry Norford, 1870-1965

Hastings professional photographer. Born Christchurch on 9 April 1870, son of George James and Mary Ann Whitehead. Married Fanny Major in 1912. Died in same city 20 January 1965. 1895-1896 managed store and post office at Whakataki, Wairarapa. First recorded in NZ Post Office directories as photographer in Foxton in 1900. In 1901 he worked in Bulls, and in 1904-1905 he had a studio in Waverley. From 1910 until ca 1939 he maintained a studio in Hastings. (See AT 13/12/1, 22/7/88 and 22/8/88).
