Collection consists mainly of portraits of sailing ships and steam ships visiting Port Chalmers, but also includes views of Port Chalmers and environs. Physical Description: 1/1 and 1/2 plate glass negatives Provenance: The collection was divided on the death of De Maus; the shipping photos being taken to England by his daughter, Mrs D Grayston, another group being held in Outram by another daughter, Mrs O J Armour, and a third group being left in the studio, which had passed in 1932 to Miss Catherine Euphemia Matheson. She worked as a photographer from that address. Processing information: Archivists notes - Originally arranged and described in 1993. Reference number changed from PAColl-3035 to PA-Group-00198 in 2008.
