Description: A prospectus for a book that was never published. The front cover features a reproduction of "The seduction" by Eion Stevens, the back cover shows "Private Bag, Central Otago" by Grahame Sydney, and the inside contains a reproduction of "Oystercatchers, Otago Harbour" by Robyn White. The back cover has photographs and biographical notes about Eion Stevens, Robyn White, Graham Sydney and Hone Tuwhare. A note inside reads: 'Otargo' is the phonetic spelling by the early visitor and sealer, John Boultbee, who had a good ear for the dialect as spoken by the South island Maori, after the name of a Maori settlement on Otago Peninsula, conventionally spelt (in a northern dialect) 'Otakou'.
