Reform Party (1905-1935)

New Zealand Political Reform League

Formed in Christchurch in June 1905, mainly through the work of Sir William Polson and of Charles Lewis. Right-wing organisations which preceded the NZPRL were the Political Reform Associations (1887), the National Association (1891-1899), and the Auckland Electoral League, 1902. Source of title - Supplied Relationship complexity - See TAPUHI for other Sutch papers Arrangement: Approximately half of the records have been arranged and indexed in numbered files. The remainder are unnumbered papers and chapter drafts. From ca 1967 until his death in 1975, Dr Sutch collected material and wrote preliminary chapters for a proposed biography of Joseph Gordon Coates, under whom he had served as secretary between 1933 and 1935.
