Description: Contains photocopies of personal correspondence from the 1950s and 1960s, mostly between C K Stead and Allen Curnow. Also contains correspondence between Stead and Bill Pearson, and correspondence from Allen Curnow to others. Other photocopied documents include: an invitation to Jenifer and Allen Curnow's wedding; a newspaper article about Curnow and physicist Harold Urey; and a 1961 article about Curnow and Stead from Auckland University student newspaper Craccum. This folder also includes lists of letters from Stead to Curnow which were photocopied for Terry Sturm in 2004, and an accompanying letter to Sturm from Stead. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Papers in the this folder were originally bound with a binder clip. Notes at the front of the papers read: - "5 sheets 1965 clip. Letter to Bill Pearson from Oxford NZ Stories clip. (CKS read Curnow poems at Royal Court Theatre 29/9/65)" - "NB Royal Court NZ Poetry 29/9/65. CKS read ([unknown word] & his own work). Curnow's House & Land, In Memoriam, Country School" - "2015 - no need to look through these again for memoir vol 2. Description: Working papers from Sturm's involvement with the State Literary Fund, Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, and other literature-related organisations. Arrangement: Preliminary box list only Sturm was a New Zealand academic and noted writer on the history of New Zealand and Australian literature. His achievements included editing the Oxford History of New Zealand Literature (1990, 1998), the drama section of the Oxford History of Australian Literature, a biography of Edith Lyttleton (G B Lancaster), and edited selections of the writing of Whim Wham (Allen Curnow), Frank Anthony, Christopher Brennan. At the time of his death he was nearing completion of a major biography of Allen Curnow. He was also active in literary arts administration, serving on the NZ Literary Fund and the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Quantity: 18 box(es). 4.50 Linear Metres.
