Third son of Archdeacon Henry Williams (1782-1867). Born Bay of Islands. Went farming. Justice of the peace from 1858. Called to the Legislative Council in 1882 and remained a member until resigning in 1905. Married his cousin Jane Elizabeth Williams (1827-1902) daugther of William and Jane Williams.

ET/LT:005 is a land purchase document of Henry Williams purchasing land in Hokianga on 23 July 1856. Includes pencil annotations on the outside of the document including `Taratara' which may refer to Taratara Peak (also known as St Paul's). Also includes the Governor's offical seal. ET/LT: 006 is dated 24 April 1860 and includes Henry Williams Jun. Esq. to John William Williams Esq. Includes a hand drawn coloured map on the inner page. The following places are named on the map: Okorari Creek, Taratara and Pukeawa. It is also dated and stamped on the outside by the `Registrar Auckland' Wed 9 May 1860. ET/LT: 007 includes Henry Williams Jun Esq. to Venerable Octavius Hadfield and wife. It is dated 24 April 1860. It contains a hand drawn coloured map, showing the following places: Okorari Creek, Taratara and Pukeawa. Description: Daily record of life as a farmer at Pakaraka, as Chairman of the Bay of Islands County Council 1876-1899, and as a member of the Legislative Council 1882-1905. Detailed descriptions of farming activities, road building in the Bay area, local church matters, and local society. Post-1882 diaries contain daily accounts of his work as a Legislative Councillor during the annual parliamentary sessions, records of meetings with politicians and government officials and references to legislation of the time, particularly that dealing with social and native affairs.
