Comments on National's impressive organisational structure and the ethos of team work througout the Party. Talks about liberal conservative background concerned with the country's good. Gives his impressions of Holyoake's and Muldoon's leadership styles. Comments that Party restructuring in place by 1975 return to office. Mentions becoming Marshall's executive assistant, in 1972, and later Muldoon's. Attributes mostly to Marshall's groundwork the success of the new systems, including the Prime Minister's Department. Mentions his writing of policy with Marshall, his secretaryship of Caucus and membership of the Policy Committee.
