Description: Rotorua Lake, with Mokoia Island in the centre. In the foreground, several houses at the lakeside. The reference to Rotomahana in the title appears to be an error, since Rotomahana is not visible from Lake Rotorua. The year that Ishbel Gordon visited, 1887, just one year after the eruption of Mount Tarawera, would mean that Rotomahana Lake was still a devastated area, not the pleasant bush-clad environment seen here. Inscriptions: Verso - title in ink Quantity: 1 watercolour(s). Physical Description: Watercolour, 84 x 185 mm
