Indeed, an amusing war - for the Americans. LWP 425/4-44 [1944].

Date: 1944

By: Bay, Edith, active 1977

Reference: Eph-A-WAR-WII-German-Propaganda-1944-04

Description: Recto shows a trouserless man watching a woman running away with his trousers. On the verso is a message telling New Zealanders and Indians that the British morale has reached a deplorably low level owing to American liberties - "no girl and no woman in England is feeling safe of the snares that are constantly being laid by the American offiers and soldiers" - "while you are stuck in the mud they are waging an amusing war in England. Therefore they are also being paid about twice as much as you are - so that they should be able to wave filled wallets in case their charm alone would not be inducing enough". This is an example of a flier distributed by Germany (probably from aeroplanes), over English-speaking troops in Europe (mainly Italy?) during the Second World War. Quantity: 1 b&w photo-mechanical print(s) on both sides of flier. Physical Description: Offset print on both sides of flyer, 207 x 146 mm.
