Description: Photographs and an accompanying booklet on Tolstoy's life and work to mark the 50th anniversary of his death in 1960. They cover portraits of him as a young man, his birthplace, colleagues and friends, his wife, productions of his plays, title page of Anna Karenina, annotated proofs of his novel The Resurrection, and illustrations from his novels. They are mostly copies of portraits and old photographs but include ones from 1958 of his birthplace museum, university etc. They are numbered and the numbers relate to entries in the booklet. There should be 47 photographs but 1, 23, 29, 31 and 33 are missing. Quantity: 42 b&w original photographic print(s).
