Description: Comprises informal geological notes by Batley about the Volcanic Plateau and two letters from him to Stephenson Percy Smith (25 and 26 Feb 1893) re the notes and his expedition (the letter of 26 Feb encloses a copy of the notes). Inserted at the back is a photocopy of a letter from N P Batley to R T Batley relating a crossing of the Ruahine Range via Mokai, ending up at Hampden (Tikokino). Source of title - Supplied Accompanying material - Accompanied by explanatory letter from donor Jane Olding sailed from London to Auckland on the `Aorangi', disembarking at Napier Nov 1885.
