Garland, Peggy, 1903-1998, Withycombe, Margaret, 1903-1998

Artist, sculptor, art teacher and letter writer. Born in England, moved to South Africa in 1921, studied art at the Slade and taught art in England. Married Tom Garland in December 1932 and emigrated to Wellington in the 1940s. Returned to England in the 1960s. Author of `Journey to new China', Caxton Press, 1954. Friend of Ormond Wilson.
