New Zealand artist, born in Dunedin. Daughter of William Mathew Hodgkins (1833?-1898) and Rachel Owen Hodgkins, née Parker, and sister of Isabel Field (1867-1950). Studied in Dunedin with G P Nerli and at the Dunedin School of Art. Left for Europe, 1901, settling in England permanently from 1913.
