Description: Comprises collection of material relating to Alfred Fairbrother's time as a Baptist Māori Missionary in the Rotorua region from 1883 to 1886. Collection includes a handwritten journal by Alfred Fairbrother containing Māori hymns, clippings, and diary entries relating to his life in Te Wairoa and Ōhinemutu, particularly his interactions with local Māori. Also includes a folder comprising handwritten notes, a transcript of Bible passage Job 22.21, a greeting postcard, and two booklets relating to Egypt. Also includes four photographs, comprising one glass lantern slide portrait of Fairbrother, taken by Josiah Martin between 1883 and 1886, a digital print of the same image (likely made by Ron Keam), one albumen print of the Pink and White Terraces, annotated verso, and one albumen print of a man, possibly Fairbrother, with an annotation verso that reads "Road to Hot Lake New Zealand North".
