Description: A home-made album containing informal photographs of the Riverside Community near Nelson taken in 1965 [probably taken by Mary or Frank Fyfe]. Contains images of different buildings (interiors and exteriors), including the Methodist Church built by community members, the original house which belonged to Hubert Holdaway, rammed earth buildings, and rammed earth machinery shed. Images also show trailers, fields, livestock, beehives, poultry run, a fruit stall on the Motueka-Nelson Road, and community members packing apples. Some photos show the community founder Archibald (Barry) Barrington, two images show Labour MPs Bill Rowling and Arnold Nordmeyer in discussion with Community members and workers. The album also contains typed captions for the photographs. Mary and Fyfe lived at Riverside in 1965 prior to moving to Wellington.
