Other sketches show comical horse-racing, a photographer photographing a cow, a man dwarfed and overwhelmed by a large cow, a man admiring a woman while his wife objects, 'strawberries and cream' showing a drunkard with a red nose being served by a young woman, a horse eating a woman's flowery hat, 'a gentleman rider' (a pig on horseback, using a photograph of a horse); 'porky porky porky' showing a pig-like woman patting a pig on the head and 'We are the backbone of the country' showing a group of farmers meeting. Description: Political cartoons from the end of the ministry of Peter Fraser, the lead up to the 1949 election (in which he was defeated by Sidney Holland), and the first year of Holland's ministry. These cartoons mainly address Holland's link to the British conservatives (which McNamara had a very negative view of), and cuts he made to wages, pensions and allowances when he came into power.
