Description: Notebook used when Strong was a pupil at Wellington College (1895-1898), includes sketches of "Climie", "Strong", Von Showen", all at the age of 60, sketches of other pupils, including Loudan, various untitled head and shoulder portraits, including a loose portrait of "Bellew" (probably Kyrle Bellew Australian Shakespearian actor who toured in New Zealand in 1897; see photograph in programme at Eph-B-DRAMA-1897); a stage setting for "Act IV, Scene 1 showing a street scene outside the premises of Curuthen [Carruthers?] Willen & Co.; and two characters from "The hunchback of Notre Dame" (Quadesimo [sic] and Dom Claude). Staff and students are shown in different group photographs. Various sporting teams are shown, including basketball, cricket, tennis, hockey and athletics; and two photographs show members of the school who were active as student librarians.
