Description: Shows the original St Mary's Anglican church, Karori. The separate bell-tower is in the centre with the small Gothic church behind it. There are fences round the graveyard to the right, trees behind the church and flowers and lawn in the foreground Edges trimmed. Shows the first St Mary's Anglican church built in Karori in 1886. It was demolished in 1925. The current building was erected in 1911, at right-angles to the earlier building, which was retained as a Sunday School until 1925. Inscriptions: Signed E. Description: A shipboard view of the Santa Cruz coast, Tenerife. Aside from a number of low-level buildings, two windmills and a tall tower can be seen, which is probably the bell tower belonging to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the first chapel erected by the Spanish conquistadors after landing nearby. Description: A pocket inserted inside the front cover holds two photographs of wedding celebrations at a British Army regiment in India. One of the scenes shows a large party of men and women, including British and Indian men in uniform. These were taken circa 1910. The main body of the album contains views of Canterbury, Otago and the West Coast of the South Island, taken around 1877 by an unidentified photographer.
