Marae at 55-59 Thorndon Quay, Pipitea, Wellington. Opened on 31 May 1980, designed to cater for the growing Māori population in Wellington. Although Te Āti Awa protocol is observed on the marae, it caters for other tribes living in Wellington

Description: Poster for an event at Pipitea Marae Wellington, featuring Maori musicians, and hosted by Te Hamua Nikora. Sponsoring organisations' names and logos are shown: the Maori Language Commission, Creative NZ, Puatatangi, Toi Maori Aotearoa, Wellington City Council, and the New Zealand Music Commission. Tickets were available from Amanda Gotty at Toi Maori. The performers are not mentioned on the poster, but reportedly included: Maisey Rika, Billy TK Senior and Mara TK, Tyna Keelan, Ria Hall, Bella Kalolo, David Grace, Matiu Te Huki, Wai, Toni Huata, Bebe Deluxe and Porirua reggae band Vintage.
