Some account of New Zealand particularly the Bay of Islands... 1807. Frontispiece. For biographical details on Tara, see TL 3/1/1/, 18 Oct 1984 Tara was principal chief of the Ngati Manu, based at Kororareka, his territory extending to Kawakawa and possibly beyond. Thought to be in his mid-70s on his death in 1818. Also reproduced in reverse titled Tiarrah, a chief of New Zealand in The cabinet of curiosities or wonders of the World displayed. Vol 2, No. 28.
