Description: Transparencies of bridges in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the subject (bridge or viaduct name, and/or river/stream name, and/or road name) and location. Dates and photographer name are often but not always annotated. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in an upright slide container with two rows of slide drawers, comprising 10 slide drawers in total. Slides were arranged in the container largely alphabetically either by bridge or river name, or location name, and possibly also by type of bridge. Slides were physically arranged from top to bottom and across both rows. The container was labelled as follows: "Concrete 1 - 5 | Stone Arch 6 - 7 | Steel Arch 8 also Brick | Stone Arch Concrete Arch 2 - pt 5 | Concrete Girder pt 5-6". Description: Record of the Government Centre, Thorndon, Wellington. As well as Parliament buildings and grounds, this group of photographs also focuses on public buildings in Lambton Quay, Molesworth, Hill, and Bowen streets. They were probably taken in the summer of 1995/1996 (reasons for arriving at this date in Historical notes below). Aerial and other photographs of Kaitoke Regional Park, ca 1977. Views of unidentified architectural models. Dates for the photographs of the Government Centre described above were determined using the following buildings that appear in the sequence. Turnbull House, Bowen Street is fully restored. This was completed in 1995. General assembly Library is fully restored and painted. This was completed in 1995. Broadcasting House is still standing and apparently fully operational. This suffered from fire, and was demolished in 1997.
