Description: A couple sits at the breakfast table reading the paper which has a headline '"Recovery" team to enter Pike River mine'. The man says 'Poor devils! What will they expect to find?' and the woman suggests 'Answers?' Context - The frustrated families of the Pike River dead are looking to take over responsibility for recovering the bodies themselves after realising that the mine receivers never had any intention of doing it. It is now six months from the time the disaster happened. The word 'answers' that the woman suggests has become a kind of catch-word for everyone who feels they are fighting a helpless battle against some sort of higher authority from God downwards. In July 2013 Pike River Coal was ordered to pay $110,000 to each of the victims' families and fined $760,000 - but in the end didn't pay the fine and only paid $5000 to each family. In Spetember 2013 the New Zealand government announced plans to re-enter the sealed-off Pike River Mine where 29 men died in a series of explosions nearly three years after the event.
