Description: Programme of a fireworks display in honour of the Queen Mother's visit. A list of 56 firework and military salute items are listed and include: Roman candles, rockets, shells,mines, Jack-in-a-box,revolving fountain, Prince of Wales Feathers, Mystic trees, silver fountain; hummers, Feu-de-joie, tourbillions, Falls of Niagara, barrage of Goblin Guns. The supervisor was Jeffrey Barnett. A variety show was held as a prelude to the fireworks and included performers of the group The Rondoliers : Iain Kerr, Betty Elliotte, Minna Dawson, Roul Raper, Hazel Connor, Peter Dawson, Ken Smith, Arthur Barnett's Choir, Caversham-Green Island Band, Dunedin Ladies' Brass Band, Dunedin Highland Pipe Band, Burns Highland Pipe Band, NZ Champion Highland dancers (Enid Johnson, Yvonne Hill, Robin Hislop, Mary-Pat Casey) There is an introduction by John M Elliotte, director of the Otago Development Council, and a history of pyrotechnics by Peter Dawson.
