Description: Horse float owned by Safety Horse Floats Company, outside Ebbett Park, Hastings, 1935. Shows the side of a horse float, with two horses on board. There are five unidentified men either on or near the float. One man is holding the reins of one of the horses. Two men are standing in front of the horse at the back of the float, while there are two men standing on the ground below. The entrance to Ebbett Park can be seen on the right. Description: Ebbett House at Ebbett Park, Hastings. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber, circa 1930s. Ebbett House is a Maori meeting house that was reputed to have been obtained by an officer of the Imperial Army, from its original site possibly in the Upper Waikato area. After his death it was stored in Auckland from where it was bought by George Ebbett in 1917, and resited at Ebbett Park in Hastings. Description: Entrance gateway to Ebbett Park, Hastings, created from carvings from different Maori buildings. Donated by George Ebbett, an early mayor of Hastings. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber, circa 1930s. The gateway, created from carvings from different Maori buildings, led to Ebbett House. The house was a Maori meeting house reputed to have been obtained by an officer of the Imperial Army, from its original site possibly in the Upper Waikato area.
