Description: A cadastral map of the Tahaia Settlement on the blocks Orahiri VII and Mangaorongo V, depicting numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The map also has written comments on the quality of the land, indicates the road to Otorohanga, and the Otorohanga-Te Kuiti Rd. Identifies the 'Native Owners' in Tahaia Block no. 2a, no. 3 Whareraurekau and in Mangaorongo V no. 4a and 4B, Mangawhero. The map depicts the handwritten names W Furnow, AJW Annon, WH Lupton, A Hall, A Neno, ME Pye, AE Forbes, CR Hill, TG Rawlings, GA Martin, AA Scholes, AD MacPherson, AF Marshall, A Scott, J Mitchell, EC Boulton, RA Ingley, Ern. Boggust, H Butler, KF Maynard and RCJ Jellie. Named (blue pencil annotation) 'Tahaia settlement' bottom left. Signed DG 4/1/26. Glued to map is clipping of information about the land for sale. In title, 'Edkins Settlement' has been crossed out and 'Tahaia Settlemt' has been written underneath. Description: The base map is of rural lands for selection on the optional system of the area of Mangaorongo in the Otorohanga rural district. This cadastral map has numbered sections, some coloured, and include acreages, owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. One section is marked as a village reserve and land forfeited is dated. Roads and streams are unnamed. The base map is of sections 4 and 7 to 12, Block XI, and sections 1 to 5, block XII, Mangaorongo Survey District, Auckland Land District No. 1259. Sections marked with red on the verso map. Directions to Otorohanga and Maihiihi include mileages. Native owners are referred to. A schedule of these districts include the section number, acreage, value, details of lease and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow the with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of conditions of lease. A statement on the left side of the map begins '1,836 acres'. Includes the application date of 22 March 19153 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. A cutting about land in the Mangaorongo Survey District is mounted adjacent to the map with handwritten details of the poster from which it came. Description: Drawn on a published map, handwritten annotations depict two Te Kooti pa sites (his old pa and his bush pa), an old battlefield, a burial ground, old cultivation, Titkoki trenches, the'Fairy Army', and the Turimoa lookout. Also indicates 'Greenstone treasure reputed to be here', bridle path to Te Kuiti, Mokau River Tributary, Paewhenua and Citadel Rock. Annotations are in the surrounds of Mangaorongo, north of Rangitoto, south of Hikurangi and west of Otarewa. Description: A base map of lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in the Pukemapou settlement, West Taupo County. The boundaries of farm blocks, Sections 1S to 12S, are prominently outlined and include owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. The entire settlement is surrounded by a rabbit-proof fence and fencelines within the sections are marked as P&W and P&N. A good metal road, waterfall and the Waikeria Stream are marked. Section 1S is labelled 'Reproclaimed DSSA', Section 3S is labelled 'Forf' (i.e. forfeited), both having Gazetteer numbers. Descriptions of the state of the agricultural land is included. Windmills, a stable and homestead are marked. Six references are made to Rangitoto 'A' sections and Mangaorongo S.D. id written prominently close the boundaries of the subdivisions. The base map itself is of sections in the Pukemapou settlement of West Taupo County which includes the Mangaorongo S.D. Auckland Land District No. 1386. A schedule of this district includes the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of conditions of lease. A statement on the left side of the map begins with '1,122 acres' while the statement on the reverse map begins 'Lands for sale or lease to discharged soldiers'. Includes the application date of 21 February 1921 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. Description: A manuscript plan of Rural lands for immediate sale in the Punui Survey District - Korakonui Improved farm settlement, West Taupo County, annotated with the names of purchasers upon payment. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Commissioner. Records improved farm settlements at Korakonui, has the survey district name of Mangaorango written adjacent to the farm blocks, which have been divided into four blocks by a hand drawn green line, numbered III, IV, XV, XVI. Section numbers, some lot numbers, acreages - some revised, dates of ownership and names of current and previous owners are handwritten within each block. The boundaries of each section are prominently marked, while some sections are coloured in green and brown. No reference key is provided. Two areas shaded in pink are named Tokanui Mental Asylum and Reformatory Farm. Formed roads, proposed roads and waggon tracks are drawn. The Mangaorongo settlement is bordered by the Mangatuku Stream, Korakonui block and Rangitoto A Nos. 3B, 52, 54, 1, 58B, all numbers followed by N.L. Two areas of Crown Land are marked. A school site, creamer, whare and old cultivations are marked and an area of self-sown grass. The inset map is a locality plan of Puniu and Mangaorongo which is divided into grid-like sections numbered I to XVI. The Mangaorongo sections are coloured pink. The main trunk railway, Kawa and Te Puhi railway stations, Puniu River, Mangatutu Stream, the settlements of Te Awamutu and Kihikihi, Tokanui Mental Asylum, the Reformatory Farm, Korakonui, Rangitoto 'A', Ouruwheru and Kakepuku areas are named..
