Description: Album of photographs taken by Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, showing Haywards substation, Centennial Exhibition, Union Airways aircraft at Rongotai airport, and views of war memorials, other monuments, some buildings and parks and gardens in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. There are also some scenic views of rivers and landscape, and one photograph of bee keepers at work on hives. Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, the father of the donor, was born in Christchurch. Description: Photographic negatives with images from four rolls of film taken in October 1991 by Judith Binney. They chiefly document her research into the life of Te Kooti. Most are taken at Ngatapa Mountain, Gisborne, the location of events involving Te Kooti in Dec 1868-Jan 1869. Other places comprise Golgotha, Makaretu, Te Rere Falls, the site of Ruapani's Pa at Popoia, Waerenga a Hika cemetery (showing the graves of Reihana family and Maria Morris), and Maraetahi Pa on the bank of the Waioeka River. Also includes four images of the memorial to Tangata Hara at Little River, Banks Peninsula; one exterior of Onuku Church (Anglican) at The Kaik, Akaroa; and nine exterior and interior images of a Scouts hall at Ngongotaha (on the shore of Lake Rotorua), formerly Te Kooti's meeting house and still showing kowhaiwhai panels and a painting of Te Arawa canoe.
