Small suburb of Dunedin, located on the northwestern shore of Otago Harbour and northeast of Dunedin city centre.

The Glendermid Tannery can just be seen in the distance above the line of trees at the harbour end of the valley. Photograph taken by David Alexander De Maus. Jocelyn Munro identified the sawmill and the location of the Glendermid Tannery in October 2008. Sawyers Bay was renamed Glendermid in 1874. The change was unpopular and the area was re-named Sawyers Bay soon afterwards. The tannery at Sawyers Bay retained the name Glendermid. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
