Description: Transparencies of alpine and ski scenes, Mount Ruapehu, 1968 and 1969. Taken by Les Cleveland. Photographs from 1968 include snow clearing (showing snow plough and chalets) and views from the top of the Bruce Road at Whakapapa ski field. Also photographs of skiers and the first chairlift on Ruapehu (Knoll Ridge) as well as vies of Pinnacle Ridge. Photographs from 1969 show a charter plane on a grass airstrip at National Park, National Park village and Mount Ruapehu from the air. Whakapapa Ski Field images include Happy Valley ski area, a series showing the Knoll Ridge chair, skiers queuing for the tow, ski field boundary, and National Downhill slope.
