Description: Lady Constance Knox, Lady Eileen Knox, Lord Northland, and their dog, Jock, in front of Government House, Auckland. Two photographs taken between 1897 and 1903 by Herman John Schmidt of Auckland. The left photograph (PA1-f-194-41-1) shows the entire group; the right-hand photograph (PA1-f-194-41-2) shows Lady Eileen and Jock. At the time these photographs were taken, the studio was still operating as the Charles Hemus studio, although Herman Schmidt was the active photographer. Description: A prospectus for a proposed 11-storey block of apartments to be erected "in the Waterloo quadrant", Auckland, with a colour illustration of the building inside the front. The building was to contain 77 self-contained luxury flats, with telephone, verandahs, lifts, a choice of interior decor. There was to be a communal laundry. Garaging was not provided for, but it was a possible consideration depending on finances. There are floor plans for each of the floors, and advertisements for furnishings and carpets by Milne & Choyce, a retail firm in Queen Street, Auckland. Hill & Plummer advertises wallpaper, the National Electrical & Engineering Company advertises electrical fittings, and Mason Struthers advertises bathroom fittings. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).
