Description: Photographs relating to education officer Murray Howse's time on Pitcairn Island 1959-ca 1963, and to Howse's life in New Zealand in 1968 and 1983. - Photographs related to Pitcairn Island were taken by unidentified photographer(s) 1959-circa 1963. Chiefly shows views of a trip to Oeno Island from Pitcairn. Shows people gathered for departure at the landing point on Pitcairn Island and views taken from sea of the sighting of Oeno Island. Also shows views of unloading longboats, pitching camp, Sabbath service, and groups on the beach, including Murray Howse, Andrew, Charles, and Fletcher. Also shows men hauling a huge rock which had holed the boats. - Includes views taken in New Zealand: floods at Parawai 1968, the Howse children and Murray Howse with the Barkla children at Whakamaru (circa 1960s?), and Murray Howse, Ken, Daphne, and Bert at the Kauaeranga Forest Education Camp, Thames, in 1983. Arrangement: PA12-10715 to PA12-10721 were delivered in the same metal case Quantity: 26 colour original transparency/ies (mounted in card).
