Description: Transparencies taken while on a cruise on board the 'Oronsay', departing Sydney and travelling to Vila, New Hebrides [Port Vila, Vanuatu] and Lautoka, Fiji, in 1975. Likely taken by Evelyn Hare. All photographs are captioned. Photographs include the departure of the 'Oronsay' from Sydney (view of Opera House and Harbour Bridge). Fiji images show Lautoka Post Office, area inland from the city, (houses, [sugar cane?]), ocean views, and 'Oronsay' docked at the wharf. Photographs of Vila show the main street, office of the Banque de l'Indochine, waterfront scenes, vegetation, the swimming pool at Hare's hotel, May and Evelyn in an outdoor area at the hotel, and a crowd of local people on the wharf watching the departure of the 'Oronsay.' Shipboard scenes show the swimming pool on board the ship and May and Evelyn are photographed on the deck.
