Description: Sales catalogue for the company which merged in 1918 with the Farmers' Union Trading Company, to become the Farmers' Trading Company. Inside front cover shows a calendar for the last part of 1915, and January-September 1916. There is a foreword by company founder Robert Laidlaw, photographs of the Auckland sales staff, photographs of the showrooms of each department and portraits of the staff who ran them; photographs of office staff at work and the shop equipment (entrance stairs, elevator, employees dining room, currant cleaner and raisin stemmer, the packing department), and an illustration of the warehouse on the corner of Hobson and Wyndham Streets. There follows an advertisement for the company's book of plans and specifications for houses, and an account of the way the war was affecting prices and supplies of goods (See pages 18-21). Description: Shows Tagalog man and woman in courtly traditional dress, the woman with a parasol and both with curled-toed shoes. On the right sits a young short-haired Aeta [?] woman in a sari-like costume. The setting is a fenced clearing, with part of a hut at the left. Plate 74 in Domeny de Rienzi's book. French edition (1835-36), has same plate and has the additional information that Danvin was the copyist. Peronard engraved the French version, but the engraver of the Italian version is not given. Description: Two sets of transparency slides of images, taken circa 1981, that promote and document Tredlite Footwear. Includes a cassette tape. The sets appear to have been compiled for Tredlite, for promotional purposes, by Reynolds Film Productions. Both sets and the cassette are labelled "'Leading the way' Hytest A/V ES 3609". Photographer of slides is unidentified, probably Reynold Film Productions. Both sets show mens shoes and boots being made, by hand, and machine. Safety footwear, and soles, are featured. Some unidentified people are shown working. Some slides show graphs and logos including one for "Hy-Test protective footwear" and one for "Reidrubber". Probably compiled for a tape-slide show where the slides may have been on dual screens, or on the same screen interspaced. Some of the slide mounts are dated 1981. Quantity: 159 colour original transparency/ies. 1 C60 cassette(s). Physical Description: Colour transparencies in plastic slide mounts with annotations on the mounts, audiocassette Provenance: The donor thought the collection came to them in 1970 as part of a deceased estate but the collection appears to be from a later date. There was no apparent link between the deceased estate and the transparencies. Processing information: Slides received mainly in two Kodak circular slide trays labellled "A" and "B". Slides were removed from trays for preservation purposes. Within each tray the slides were mainly numbered and this order has been maintained. The following slides were received loose and were inserted into their numberical order: 40A, 1B, 53B, 55B, 59B, 61B, 74B and 78B. The following numberes were not located: 39A, 44A, 38B, 42B, 60B, and 66B. Eight un-numbered slides were left in the order received, these include two silver blackout slides.

The third frame shows a woman polishing her feet and the heading reads 'And the office girl says 'What's it going to cost for rouge, powder & polish now?''
