Historian. Published books on military history. Grew up in Mount Manganui. Graduated with Master's degree in Defence and Strategic Studies at Waikato University in 1998, completed his doctorate in Australia. Worked as Senior Historian, Ministry of Culture and Heritage. Circa 2014 working at Massey University on the First World War Centenary Programme.
