Description: "Tr" class shunting locomotive, New Zealand Railways no TR 1, photographed at the Petone railway workshops in July 1924 by A P Godber. Reproduced in "Cavalcade of New Zealand locomotives" by A N Palmer & W W Stewart (p 133), with caption '"Tr" 1 shunting at Petone Workshops, about 1925. A P Godber (NZR)'. This locomotive was constructed at Petone in July 1924, from a standard Fordson 22hp tractor attached to a patent underframe supplied by the Adamson Motor Company of Birmingham, Alabama. It was used for light shunting in various parts of the North Island until the 1940s. Source: "Cavalcade of New Zealand Locomotives", by A N Palmer & W W Stewart.
