Description: Nests of hedge sparrows (one abandoned), goldfinch, linnet, fantail, blackbird, and lark, most of the images showing eggs in the nests. The second sequence shows tree flowers and foliage, bark and berries. These include a black walnut tree, liriondendron blooms, idesia berries, redwood trees in Rotorua, tristania conferta bloom, the bark of a eucalyptus tree, chestnuts, acacia blossom, and abies firma flowers (a Japanese fir tree at Cambridge). Describes her property near Alexandra between Taylor's orchard and Earnscleugh Station where she lives in a one hundred year old house built by Andreas Iversen. Gives details of the property's previous owners including Mon McGinnis. Describes how the property is too small for apricots to be a viable crop and it was planted with walnut trees for the nut crop and for the wood. Discusses pruning, pests, frost and cultivation. Comments on the labour intensive nature of walnuts as a crop. Mentions that sorting, drying and opening the nuts is done by hand. Describes the huge walnut tree planted in the early 1860s beside the cottage which the Iversen family originally lived in.
