Situated in Latimer Square, 208 Hereford Street, Christchurch. Built in 1861 to the design of architect Samuel Coleridge Farr (1827-1918). Formerly known as Collins' Family Hotel and Boarding House, became known as the Occidental in 1889 when John Harris became the licensee. Benjamin Perry (1845-1925) acquired the licence in 1906. Was destroyed in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake. Was registered as a Category II historic place (#1913).
