In the 1930s, it was called the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor Boat Association with chairman O A Moller, but by the late twentieth century, had changed its name to Wellington Provincial Yachting Association. Comprises members from the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, Evans Bay Yacht and Motor Boat Club.
