Description: Copy of an 1870 cadastral map of land blocks within the Manawatū-Wairarapa Block, from the Tararua Ranges eastwards to the Puketoi Range and Castle Point Block. Blocks indicate name, number and acreage, and include Kaihinu, Pahiatua, Te Pukahu, Mongorongo, Eketāhuna, Ngatapu, Ihuraua, Manawatū, Mangahauo, Puketoi, Tautane, Makure. Two blocks include note 'not passed the [Native Land] Court' (Kaihanga, Mangahao no. 3; 7,000 acres and Puketoi no. 6; 3,200 acres). Includes annotations such as the addition of Mangakao no. 2 block in 1881. Includes names of rivers, streams. Note on map reads: 'Produced before the N[ative] L[and] Court at Masterton Wairarapa September 7th 1871'. [Signed] J Rogan'. Description: A base map of Block V, Westmere S.D. has been used to detail the town section 103 to be developed by John T. Williams. The plan for the section includes a cottage, stable and two sheds. The orchard, garden, passage and yard are named, include measurements in feet and inches, and notes about a 'crooked delanidated picket fence' and 'buried in dense growth of trees and shrubs'. The adjacent section No. 102, includes the names W.J. Vowles and J.A.S. McDonald, owner and occupier, while section No. 104 has the names Mrs. M.V. Soulby, owner, and Williams, occupier. The section to the rear has the name Mrs. Ellen Cullinane, owner and occupier. A note written on bottom right of map gives information about survey posts, pegs and no excess claimed for this section. Description: Topographic map of land blocks in the area from the town of Wanganui along the coast to the vicinity of the Whangaehu and Turakina rivers, then following the Wanganui River to the Waimeha River. Rivers are named, as are the settlements of Wanganui, Hiruharama, Pipiriki and Taumarunui. Field's Track is marked, as is the railway line. Believed to be a copy by A. D. Description: Topographic and cadastral map of Clifton, Pahiatua from the Pahiatua Railway Station to the Mangatainoka Railway Station, Mangatainoka Central Road and Main Road. A reference key refers to tenure of freehold and leasehold land, also acreages of sections and paddocks. Additional pencilled notes in some freehold sections include a number for each section and the acreage. Notes in the reference key state that the leasehold land is comprised of Education Reserve and Wellington Corporation Reserve with references to improvement clauses. Includes the road and railway line towards Woodville, and the site of a railway crossing. Bridges are shown on the Mangatainoka River. Includes butter factories, a school, hotel, post offfice, Bank of New South Wales, Bank of New Zealand, and sale yards, yards and dip. The direction towards Mangahao and Palmerston is given, also to Balance. Includes two sections of leasehold land on the road to Makuri, adjacent to Main Road. Sites of some homesteads are given and owners' names are: Walker, Marsh, Page, Lloyd, C. Beetham, Abraham and Williams. The enlargement is of part of the two sections on the road to Makuri, adjacent to Main Road, showing the sites of farm buildings. The note 'Plan of homestead' is written across the enlargement, but buildings listed are: dwelling, wash-house, wood and fowl shed, tool and trap shed, hay shed, bull shed, also the woolshed - cow shed - stable. Title of the enlargement supplied by cataloguer and is a combination of information taken from a pencilled note on bottom right which states: Mr. C. The estate borders the Makino Stream and the Oruoua River, and the properties are on either side of Kawa Kawa Road. The map contains text about the sale, cadastral information about the highlighted sections (1-18) showing acreage, buyer name and price each section was sold for.
