Description: Photographs taken during the trial of Rua Kenana in 1916 at the Supreme Court in Auckland. Includes portraits of people associated with Rua and the trial. Most of the images were taken outside the Supreme Court. Photographer unidentified. A label at the back of the album advertises Walter Suckling (as the publisher?). One view is a two-part panorama of Maungapohatu, probably taken by surveyor Percy R. Wilkinson It is understood that a number of similar photograph albums of the trial were created. Rua was accused of using seditious language, counselling others to murder or disable the police, and resisting arrest.
