Description: Album of photographs, moslty of family and friends, chiefly taken by Rhoda McWhannell. Family and friends include a gathering at the christening of Malcolm McWhannell (son of Joan and John McWhannell), Bill and Kathleen Haines of `The Croft', Wiltshire, England; Elizabeth and Jane Geddis as teenagers; John McIlrea, a very young boy watching shearing; Mike and Jill Carter; and the home of Mrs Mavis Commons. Scenes relating to `Rozel', the farm owned by Frederick and Rhoda McWhannell, include the felling of a huge aspen poplar in 1963, and working with Mr Gerlach, with a trailer filled with bamboo. Description: Photographs of family and friends, mostly taken in New Zealand by Rhoda McWhannell. There is one group of scenes relating to Rhoda McWhannell's brother and his family in the Kloof and Drakensberg Mountains areas of South Africa. Description: The first 7 slides are entitled "Trees". They include ginkgo seed and leaves; a ginkgo tree at Kew Gardens in England which was planted in 1762; Judas tree blossom; melia azedarach berries; kauri seedlings at Waipoua, and female kauri cones. The next 8 slides show "Mrs Taylor's garden" in Christchurch taken in December 1963. These are followed by 6 slides entitled "Christchurch". They include portraits of Rev Mortimer Jones, Rev Mortimer Jones with Mrs Lang (?) standing in the doorway of an unidentified church; a eucalyptus ficifolia with a cross on a church silhouetted behind; a wattle in flower at the church; and portraits of the Rev K Liggett and the Rev Claude Hyde. Description: Photographs of family and friends, chiefly taken by Rhoda McWhannell, many of them taken at her home `Rozel'. Most of the people are not named in this album, but many have been identified from images in earlier albums in the Rhoda McWhannell collection. Scenes include groups of friends, some at the celebration for Rhoda McWhannell's 90th birthday, some in the Rose Garden at Te Awamutu; a group outside Christ Church at Ohaupo on St Luke's Day, 1985 with the Rev. Ken Baigent; gardens; three of a group of school children at Te Awamutu planting a kauri tree with Rhoda McWhannell; two taken in the garden of Hazel Le Rougetel in Hampshire, England; one of Rhoda McWhannell's niece Sally Pat Orange (nee McCurdie) and her son, who live in South Africa, and a scene of poinsettias growing in her garden at Kloof.
